Why choose
IPv6-enabled hosting?

IPv6 is the next generation protocol for the Internet. While IPv4 has been around for over 30 years and has been the core protocol for the Internet, it has some limitations. For example, it is projected that the supply of available IPv4 addresses will max out somewhere in the next 2 to 3 years. IPv6 extends available IP addresses to a near limitless quantity.

Interoperable with the current IPv4, IPv6 is designed to run well on high performance networks (Gigabit Ethernet, OC-12, ATM, etc.) and at the same time still be efficient for low bandwidth networks (such as wireless).

Additionally, IPv6 provides for standard implementation of security and reliability protocols which increase quality of service without diminishing performance.

Verio sees IPv6 as an enabling technology. With improved security and reliability, the ability to offer IPs to a global market, built-in functionality for Mobile IP, Multicast —and more—Verio is the first Tier-one Internet backbone provider built for the future.

The IPv6-enabled VPS and MPS are just one component of NTT's large-scale IPv6 service. Our globally tested and proven IPv6-native, tunneling, and dual-stack gateway services are now available on a commercial basis. Customers around the globe are able to connect to the world's only commercial-grade Global Tier One IPv6 Backbone operating in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.
