Verio and NTT Communications have been selected to demonstrate IPv6 wireless and embedded systems technology at this kickoff to ICAC's 2005 program of educational events. The Internet's transition from IPv4 to IPv6 and the new benefits of IPv6 are key policy issues for the US Government. The demo will use a remote weather station to display the capabilities and maturity of the IPv6, as well as how the new protocol can be applied to other scenarios, such as the battlefield. The Tech Fair serves as an opportunity for policymakers, staffers, industry executives and public interest advocates to come together, in an atmosphere of technology, to network with their peers. The goal of the tech fair is to bring cutting-edge technology demonstrations to Capitol Hill that illustrate the power and flexibility of the Internet as medium for communications, commerce, and democracy.
